Pets at YXJ

At North Peace Regional Airport (YXJ), we welcome our furry freinds!

Travelling with Pets at North Peace Regional Airport (YXJ)

At North Peace Regional Airport (YXJ), we know that pets are part of the family – and travelling with them requires a little extra care. To help make the journey smoother for both you and your pets, we offer a designated pet relief area before security and a service pet relief area both before and after security.

Important Guidelines

All non-service animals must remain in a kennel while inside the terminal.

Service animals are welcome throughout the terminal

Pet & Service Animal Relief Areas

Pre-Security Pet & Service Pet Relief Area

A designated pet and service pet relief area is located directly outside the Departures doors of the terminal building. This area is easily accessible and provides a convenient spot for your pet before check-in.

Post-Security Service Pet Relief Area

After passing through security, service animals have access to a dedicated relief area inside the secure Departures Lounge. You’ll find this area in the back left corner of the lounge. This area is clearly signed and equipped with hand sanitizer, waste disposal bags and a covered waste bin.

Pet Etiquette at YXJ

To ensure a pleasant journey for everyone, we kindly request that pet owners follow these guidelines:

Keep Pets Secure: Pets must remain kennelled or leashed at all times within the airport premises.

Clean Up After Your Pet: Please pick up after your pet to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.

Food Service Areas: While we love our pets, they cannot enter food service establishments unless they are certified service animals.

Respect Fellow Passengers: Be mindful of other passengers’ space and comfort during your travels.

Travelling with Pets

Before travelling, ask your airline about its policies on passengers travelling with pets:

Foreign Travel

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has import requirements for all animals and animal products entering Canada. Please check the CFIA website for information on importing pets.
